Not with you guys. I love all of you.
First off, before I begin my rant, A couple of people got together and made Keep in mind, it's only for foxes in which you KNOW the origins are ranched (so chances are any stoles you have can go into that group). They don't accept naturally occuring variations (Red, Cross, Silver) Unless they KNOW it was ranched and where it came from.
Now, onto my ranting. I'll be calling out some people (not any of you, though X3)
I DO NOT want you going over to these people's pages and talk to them. Is that clear? Good!
It seems every day now we're getting more wolfaboos/foxaboos/animalaboos bitching and moaning about taxidermy. If it's not about the fact that "OMFG UR A MURDERER" or "That's disgusting!" Especially since the main page is taking the most popular from EVERY category, giving other categories more exposure. This could be good or bad. Good because others can appreciate the hard work and such that people do to bring life to these creatures, and bad because there are these people who do dickish things and bitch and moan about the artist and their work.
If there's anything I've learned so far while being a part of this community, it's that you have to try to love and tolerate haters. And if that don't work, dig them the deepest grave in the farthest corner of the internet.
Take for instance, a certain user whose username has to do with a powerful emotion and a dangerous element that consumes anything wooden in its path. Her journals are full of "Oh my god this person named this and plays with it and I hate fur and people who disrespect animals". Her comments mostly consist of "This is garbage! Why would you do that?" She's deluded and sees all soft mounts as toys and the people who buy them as stupid. Her mantra seems to be that dead things are dead, stop giving names and personalities to them because they're DEAD.
I, for one, have never just GIVEN any of my pelts a name. when I first received Victoria, she had no name. She was just my soft-mounted fox. Then, once I spent some time with her, a name just came into my head, without warning. For someone who has a difficult time coming up with names, this was a breakthrough. I recognized her because my belief is that even the pelts of animals retain remnants of who they were in their lifetime.
She is not only disrespecting taxidermists, but those with a spiritual nature that believe that our pelts and mounts still communicate with us, even in death.
There's a difference between wanting to save animals and bash people who try to give life and appreciate those who have passed on.
It's different if you give them outlandish backstories like they were your fursona, or dressing them up in stupid outfits. That's completely different. But just dry-along so, you having a soft mount and respecting it apparently makes you a disgusting murderer.
So, starting with this chick here, I'm going to be making a group block list. If you find someone that continues to harass you, even if you trid making your point, you can put them on the list. Be sure to add them to your block list, or, if they become threatening in ANY way, report them. DeviantART does not take that shit, and they will get a mark on their record, a written Cease and Desist, or a ban.
If we're going to be called murderers, at least let us be called murderers together.
I'm in an angry mood if you can't tell. I'm going to go make hats now.

New Folder!
Because y'all keep posting fabulous photos of your foxes on here, I made a photo specifically for photography! Please look at the quality of stuff in that folder before submitting. :3
Also, a friendly reminder to please submit things to the correct folders!
To those who are spamming our group
They're everywhere.
Seriously, fuck off. We have our hobbies, and we love animals. Just because we collect and make taxidermy pieces doesn't mean we are murderers, or we have no souls, or we're going to hell. We don't not care about live animals.
In this instance, the staff have our backs. Report all you'd like; we're not going anywhere.
I may not be the best admin in the world, but you fuck with my group you're fucking with my friends, and I don't take too kindly to that :stare:
Group Update - 20 December 13
Edit: Rewritten. Thanks for proving a point to me (which I'll cover below) :meow:
These rules not only apply for us in the US, but overseas as well. So don't think that just because you're not directly affected by this that you are exempt.
1. The only pictures of ranch foxes (and foxes in general) I'd like to see are either completed mounts, or pictures showing all sides of a fox. No "look what arrived in the mail!" pictures. If it's just the pelt, just the back and belly will be fine. This is, after all, a group about fox variations. You can't really observe a fox from just one side! :3
This is an example of what I mean for pelts. (which
Important Notice - Please Read! *EDIT*
EDIT: Now that I have a slightly better idea of what happened, I'm going to instate some new rules. These are rules for this group, but general consideration for the rest of the taxidermy community.
Do not post pictures of ranch foxes to this site from Breeder A. At All.
Even if they're completed. If we just limit them being seen, we can concentrate on getting our community back on track. It'll take a while; won't happen overnight. But They're what caused our community to implode.
Post them to Tumblr. Facebook. Not here. Not for a while. Not until we've recovered.
Any new pictures of ranch foxes (unless they're a variation that would go i

She's such an obnoxious person. If she comes here to complain she might as well go stick her head in a pot of boiling water then complain that it burns. Seriously.
